About the conference

On Wednesday 24 April 2013 Fondazione L’Albero della Vita, in collaboration with Fondazione Patrizio Paoletti –education partner, Eurochild and Childrenleftbehind.eu, organize a round table debate “Left Behind – Promoting the rights and well-being of children left-behind in transnational families” .

The event will take place in the European Parliament in Brussels (from 4pm to 6pm, room ASP 5E3) and will be hosted by the MEP Ms Roberta Angelilli.

Since the Unicef and Alternative Sociale Association study on Children Left Behind in Romania in 2008 that let the issue be known, over the years the European Parliament and the EU Commission committed to an active understanding of the children left behind issue. In 2012, the European Commission published a study looking also at the impact of migration on vulnerable groups like children.
After the European Conference in March 2011- by the same stakeholders of the round table, that let the issue emerge as a European phenomenon involving hundreds of thousands of children in the EU, a round table discussion with experts and policy makers is a necessary step to make further progress in the active promotion of children’s rights and well-being in transnational families, thereby stimulating parliamentary debates and furthering employment and social policies.

Please go to the registration area and reserve your place by 22 April 2013. You will find there all details for access to Parliament.
