LEFT BEHIND PHOTO EXHIBITION, SHOTS FOR MIGRANT FAMILIES RIGHTS

On the 13th July Fondazione L’Albero della Vita organized  the exhibition Left Behind by Carmine Flamminio, in the framework of the programme “Family on the move protecting transnational rights in Europe”.

The reportage  portrayed children, grandparents left in the country of origin and migrants mothers working in Italy. Ivano Abbruzzi, President of Fondazione L’Albero della Vita, introduced the event illustrating  he critical aspects hampering children left behind well-being and FADV’S commitment in raising awareness on the social consequences of  European  internal migration.

Carmine Flamminio developed the reportage between Moldavia , Chisinau, Miclesti, Puhoi and Italy Rome. The idea of the project was to give voice to the vulnerable categories who suffer the consequences of migration. Children, Mothers and grandparents were portrayed in 15 pictures, each section reported moving stories: Valentin who wished to be a Wizard to reach his family, Tatiana, who  was separated by his son for several years but kept the relationship alive through letters and gifts. Now she runs AssoMoldave, an association that promote migrants women rights.

The exhibition reunited different stakeholders to exchange opinions and thoughts on families in migration  and raised awareness with the Italian press on the migrant families rights.
